  1. The form of writing that I chose was a summary. I chose a summary because it is to the point and provides a general idea on what a topic or book is about. In this case for the chosen topic, the summary greatly describes all the necessary points. The layout of a summary is also easy and organized, allowing the reader to easily follow along. The topic sentence of a summary already tells the reader what the topic is going to be about before he or she even reads it.

  3. The form of writing that I chose was a summary. I chose a summary because it illustrates all the points I’m trying to make. It’s easier to connect with your audience because you can summarize all of the keys points in an organized fashion and a straightforward format. As summary is easier for the audience to grasp rather than informing them what is going on.

  4. I chose to write a memo for this assignment. I made this selection because I thought it would be a unique but effective way to deliver my explanation. A memo is very direct and to the point, making it efficient. I found it easy to write but it also allowed me to be a little creative, which I liked. The memo was easy to format and I also chose it because I thought my audience would prefer something a little shorter, rather than a lengthy piece.

  5. I chose summary for the form of writing. It is brief and to the point. It is a way to get the main idea across to the audience. It's a way of showing how much you understand of what you read or saw. Instead of putting a whole bunch of information that doesn't need to be there, it puts together the main ideas in order of when and how they happened. The summary form of writing is an easy way to remember what you read.

  7. I chose to write a summary for this form of writing. I chose a summary becuase it is less diffucult to explain your ideas of thinking on only one sheet of paper. People would read it becuase it's only a page and people are more focused when reading it.It has the main message and that message explains what you wrote about. It is very basic words so everyone could understand what you wrote and it's to the point. The audience would read your arguement about a certian topic and making it descriptive and important. It would aslo be well organized.

  8. I chose a letter for my form of writing that explains or informs. The main reason I chose to do a letter is because I was able to write to Holden on a more personal level. I was able to be informal but still get my main points across. A letter seemed like it involved the least amount of work and it was a clear idea which I had no confusion with. I also had an example of a letter in my binder that I could reference to make sure the format is the same.

  11. I chose to use a letter as the form of writing to explain or inform how Holden was afraid of becoming an adult. I used a letter to express Holden’s fears and apprehension of adulthood because a letter can be informal. A letter can be deep and express strong feelings, emotions, and ideas on a personal note. This allows me to be more comfortable writing about the subject, explaining Holden’s fears of growing up. A letter allows me to provide detail that is straight forward without using several pages explaining a something in a formal format that may be hard to understand. The personal level of a letter may have a connection on a personal level which makes it easier to understand as someone can relate their own personal experiences.

This form of writing is also a way of getting the general idea of what is being summarized. Using this form in my opinion is the best way in capturing the main idea of the reading. This is the most organized way to inform and it is also one of the easiest.

  13. In order to inform and explain Holden Caulfield’s fear or apprehension of growing up and becoming an adult I chose to write a summary. I felt that a summary of Holden’s character would accurately and effectively explain Holden’s hamartia of fear, particularly his fear of becoming an adult. A summary identifies and highlights the key point or points of a novel or in this case a character and gives the reader the general idea of what is being summarized. I felt that a summary would be appropriate to explain Holden’s fear because this fear is really the major theme of not only the novel, but also the character of Holden Caulfield. Holden’s fear of growing up is the basis of the novel, and for that reason I chose to write a summary, which would highlight just that idea above all of the themes of lesser value in The Catcher in the Rye.

  14. I chose to use a summary to show how Holden has a fear of entering adulthood. I think by using a summary it is the fastest and easiest way to plot many ideas and important facts about any topic. It is easy for the viewers to understand what you are saying and can be very general and open, whereas a letter is only addressed to one person and is supposed to be private. It is also a very understanding concept to people to view and doesn’t make the viewers question themselves on what they are writing if it is written properly. Most people use summaries to get the information to the viewer’s facts, so this is why I picked a summary.

  20. I chose to explain Holden's fear of becoming an adult in the form of a report. Reports can be very effective in informing the audience because it has various takes on many different opinions. You can also be creative in writing a report, as I made mine into a news report. By doing this I was able to inform my audience of Holden's fear of growing up, but also set a general statement on how there are others, like Holden, who refuse to face some of the harsh realities life unfortunately comes with.

  26. The form of writing that I have chosen is a summary. I chose this because it is the best and simplest way to get a point across to your target audience. A summary tends to be short and recaps everything the reader has to know about the information of the topic. The reader usually wants to read very simple and direct information that informs and explains or else they will grasp nothing out of it and think of it as a waste of time. This is why a summary is the best form of writing in this genre for Holden's fear of growing up.
