I chose the newspaper format because my headline draws the readers attention. It makes them want to read and listen to my point of view. The newspaper format is the best and only way to understand why mankind is the product of their environment.
ReplyDeleteThe reason on why I chose a PowerPoint presentation as a form of persuasion was because it contains many illustrations and it is easier to read. These aspects attract the audience and do not bombard the audience with just words but also graphic representations, which are more catching to the human eye. I chose PowerPoint because it is a great way to persuade and organize ideas. I can use one idea per slide and not mix it with other ideas making the audience focus on one point at a time, making it clearer to understand. A PowerPoint can also contain music and other audio that will further attract the audience and do a better job at persuading a specific idea. These are the reasons on why I chose a PowerPoint in order to persuade my audience.
ReplyDeleteI chose to write a book review on Lord of the Flies because I think that it gives a good opinion along with some factual information about the book. If someone was interested in purchasing Lord of the Flies, they might look at a book review to see if it appeals to them. A book review is a perfect way to make readers see that the book is about mankind being the product of their environment.
ReplyDeletei chose to make a poster on Lord of the Flies because i wanted to catch peoples attention and its very creative. Another reason is because posters are everywhere.. at school, library's newspapers and no matter what your eyes are attracted to, you want to know what they have to say even if it doesn't interest you.
ReplyDeleteI chose the poster format because posters are a creative form and are impactful. They are eye-catching and get the message across quickly. The poster is persuasive because it draws your attention to a clear message. although it is short, the message it is to the point. The reason I think this is the best way to persuade my audience is because you can in a few seconds you can illustrate a point effectively, the audience doesn’t have to sit down and invest time to understand the point. The graphics on the poster keeps the audience entertained and attracted to what they are reading. The poster can persuade the audience to see my point of view on the book.
ReplyDeleteI chose a poster as my form of persuasion, because I feel that a poster is very creative and in influential. But also very precise and eye catching for people in my age group. Also with a poster you can draw attention to your main message by using pictures, colors, and short sentences. This is very effective because this makes it fast and easy for your audience to gather information. I am also in contact with this type of persuasion on a daily basis, which makes it easy for my develop my own poster. I feel that a poster is a great form of persuasion, and is by far my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI chose to create a PowerPoint presentation to persuade one into believing mankind is a product of their environment. A PowerPoint is my favourite genre of persuasive writing because it is very visual and it gets the message across by using very little words. By making a PowerPoint, I can express my creativity and at the same time, be persuasive. I also chose to create a PowerPoint because the targeted audience is our class, a group of technological, savvy teenagers. We teens, prefer visual information rather than reading long text. PowerPoints are appealing to the eye and fun to read. The information can be organized in charts, lists, and by using bullet points. The main purpose of my PowerPoint is to persuade my class into believing that mankind is a product of their environment and at the same time making my message visually stimulating.
ReplyDeleteI choose to make a poster because I believe a poster is a very catchy way to attract a person’s attention. I believe some times pictures speak more then words and people rather interoperate things rather then taking the time to always have the message clear in front of them. Posters are displayed everywhere such as flyers, community centers, classrooms etc their purpose is to grab readers attention and persuade people into doing something. A poster is also a very fun creative way to bring across a message as posters usually have bold attractive colors which makes people want to stop and look and also makes people remember the message since a poster is such a clear and vivid form of persuasion. Man kind is a product of their environment was very easy to create and put foreword this message into a clear and distinct poster format.
ReplyDeleteThe form of persuassion that i have chose in order to persuade my audience that mankind is a product of their enviornment using the novel Lord of the Flies is a PowerPoint. I decided to use a PowerPoint because i think it is a great way to persuade people without bombarding them with words and content. A PowerPoint does contain content however it is limited rather then it being alot in comparison to maybe a book review. Also I used a PowerPoint because it is a great way to organize information, I can do a topic a slide rather then having a whole bunch of ideas scattered. A PowerPoint in my opinion does a great way of entertaining the audience and keeping them awake.
ReplyDeleteI chose a poster as my form of persuasion because in todays fast pace society, it delivers the message quickly through the caption and visually through the image. It is easy to read and grabs the attention of the reader through the image, making the message more memorable. It is an effective form of communication and hopefully gets people talking about it. As teenager, I am impacted more by visual forms of communication as they make a greater impression on me and get me thinking about the message
ReplyDeleteI chose a powerpoint as my form of persuasion because i find it easier to get my point across without acctually having to bombard my audience with tons of information. It uses very little words and visual aids to help the audience understand what you are trying to say. Also, i find that you can be creative while making a power point because you can include music, and photos to keep the audience interested rather then having huge paragrpahs of text. I also chose the powerpoint format because my audience is my class and i know that they would rather have more visual communication rather then having huge blocks of paragraphs to read because it becomes boring and you start to lose everyone after the first slide. A powerpoint is a great format of persuasive writing because it keeps the audience awake and listening.
ReplyDeleteI chose PowerPoint as the form of persuasion for this assignment. The method of PowerPoint is constantly changing and there is always something different to pay attention too. PowerPoints usually include pictures, videos, and music more than most forms of persuasive writing which makes it original. It appeals to both auditory and visual learners and keeps the whole audience interested. Another reason I used PowerPoint is because it is quite enjoyable to create. I get to add all sorts of effects to personalize it further. I am very familiar with PowerPoint and it gives me even more practice creating PowerPoints. A PowerPoint is a really great for all sorts of persuasion.
ReplyDeleteI chose to create a book review as my form of persuasive writing because I thought it was different, book reviews were new to me and I’ve never done anything like it before. Book reviews I think are the best to do for a book because when people are in denial of wondering to buy the book or not they will want advice from someone who has read the book before. A poster will only advertise the book but will not really promote the storyline and tell you if it’s good or not. A book review can have certain thoughts from the writer if the book is good or not and that’s what I like about book reviews. It will point out the good or bad in the book whereas a poster for example will probably only give you the good details.

ReplyDeleteFor the writing assignment on Lord of the Flies, the form of persuasion that I chose was the letter. I had chosen the letter because I felt that it was the best way for me to persuade my arguement on mankind being a product of their environment. I found that this type of persuasion was very creative. I got to make up the address and the reason why I am sending this letter. Using my thoughts on mankind and my own imagination, I got to create a letter that persuaded my audience on Lord of the Flies and interested them with my creative letter.

I chose the want ad becuase it is very descriptive and has many key points that will persuade you.It made me learn more about want ad and the specific things about it.some body would enjoy persuading with a want ad becasue of the way it is formated and used like the internet is a place that were you can find want ads.I aslo chose the want ad becuase of the pictures and titles that will catch the readers attention to buy something.
ReplyDeleteFor my persuasive writing assignment on Lord of the Flies, I chose to write a letter. I picked this form of writing because I felt that this genre would most likely be very effective, since it is so personal, as is the focus of our task. I wrote my letter from the perspective of Simon right before he died, and I thought that this helped convey not only the topic at hand, but insight relating to actual examples. I tried to make my letter interesting by elaborating on assumptions I made from the book as well as unique styling. This form of persuasion allowed me to express my opinions about the topic in a creative way that the others could not, and that’s why I chose it.

Also, posters are more noticeable and eye-catching due to bright colours and the use of both words and pictures. Another reason for my choice is that posters are seen on a daily basis and they can be encountered almost anywhere, whether it's at school, the library or the mall. The audience needed to be persuaded about the statement "mankind is a product of their environment" was my classmates. Due to this, I thought a poster would be the best form to use because as teenagers we tend to be more attracted to pieces of work with pictures rather than writing. Posters are very simple, yet they still have the capability of sending out a message and they seem to have a greater impact on teenagers to have them think about the message being sent out to them.

ReplyDeleteI chose a poster for the persuasive writing assignment because I think its the easiest way to catch someone's attention when trying to persuade someone. I chose to use a poster because they are creative and can sometimes have a greater impact than written assignments. Also, posters have symbols and pictures that they use to send messages to people, and it does get the message across easier because the person doesn't have to stand there and read something, but they can visually understand the message on a poster. In my opinion, posters most of the time catch peoples eyes quicker due to the pictures and phrases. My last reason why I chose a poster is because they are seen on a daily basis. This means posters are hung up almost everywhere, for example in classrooms and public places. Posters are very easy to make, however they have the most effectiveness in my opinion.

I choose a letter because I thought that it was the best way for me to persuade my audience that mankind is a product of their environment. While having an in class discussion about letters the majority of the class voted their level of interest is a 3. This choice made me realize that I can use a letter to persuade my age group. The letter allowed me to be creative and use my imagination. I got to make up my own names, addresses and theme of my letter. It gave me the option to write it in first person present tense which made it easier to write about. The letter also gave me the freedom to place myself in someone else’s shoes to write and report my thoughts on how mankind is a product of their environment. Letters can be found on the internet, in the mail and in libraries. Using the letter format I got to persuade my audience to understand how mankind is a product of their environment and that is why I choose the letter.

Also, a poster is very easy to read and understand which makes it geared towards all age groups. Posters grasp the reader’s attention easily unlike other forms of persuasive writing. I also thought a poster was a perfect way to show that 'Mankind is a product of their environment. I showed this theme by images and captions that explained the changes in the boy’s behavior and values.
ReplyDeleteThe type of persuation I choose to use is a poster. I chose a poster because a poster is eye catching, easy to read and easy to understand. It is an eye catcher and if people are drawn towards a poster of ether a movie, or a book, they are eventually going to want to know what it is about so they will ether read or watch it. This is probley the easiest way of presuading my age group to do or watch something. My audience is my class, therefore it is my age group which means bright colours and big lettering would stand out and make it appealing to the eye.
ReplyDeleteThe type of persuasive writing format i chose for my lord of the flies creative assignment was a letter.I chose this form because it is versatile and open ended. There are many ways to express a point of view through a letter, not only stating arguements but covinving the reader by showing emotion through the words. If a specific message is being delivered, it does not have to be blunt, it would generally be infered by the reader. You could sway them to think a certain way by adding emotion or statments that can strongly impact the reader. For example, before simon dies he could write his last few words in a letter to a family member, stating his circumtances. To prove to the reader that man kind is a product of its environment, a statement that could impact them is "Piggy has been killed" or "the children savagely slaughtered a pig, just for meat...". This persuades the audience to draw closer to your main message.
ReplyDeleteI chose to create a want ad because it focuses on many different aspects such as graphics as well as slogans or catch phrases. Want ads could also be seen as posters depending on the perspective. Want ads can persuade you to do something by their appearance, but sometimes they can also intimadate you. For example, the "Uncle Sam Wants YOU" ad, was really intimidating to many young people across the USA to join the army back in the day. This want ad is twisting the children's minds telling them that they are becoming part of the island, just as savage and cruel as every other living creature that lives there.

The reason why I choose a poster is because a poster is appealing, and attracts various age groups due to the colours and attractive fonts used within the poster. A poster, in my opinion, is the most simplest form of persuasive writting to comprehend. Seeing images, and text help the audience better understand and visualize the message that is trying to be promoted.

Most people don't enjoy reading large amounts of information, which is why a poster is a good choice because it displays mainly pictures. Also, people often come across posters in their daily routines because they can be found everywhere, such as a community center, billboard, mailbox, etc. The more places that any type of persuasion is found, the greater chance it will have to persuade someone.

Bringing the reader much closer to the character, and truely understanding what they went through with heavy emotion. I found that this type of writing can be directed to any age group, giving all readers the understanding of their strugle.

I thought that writing a letter would be a be a more effective way of persuading the class into believing a person is a product of their environment. For me, personally, it was a tough decision to choose between a letter and a poster. I felt that both forms of persuasion do an extremely effective job of persuading the audience into something. I feel that either form of persuasive writing is a great way to persuade someone of something. I ultimately chose to write a letter as apposed to creating a poster because I can write better then I draw. Also, a letter is a very flexible form of persuasive writing. A letter can be formal, in-formal, friendly business oriented, etcetera. A letter can also display a multitude of opinions and emotions both effectively and concisely, a letter can and usually is very opinionated. This characteristic of a letter can have a tremendous impact on a reader, especially if the author of the letter is someone who the reader looks up to or admires.

I chose it because PowerPoint has many options you can use to capture the audience's attention. Pictures, audio, text, and transition affects between the points deffinently captures attention. Also PowerPoint already has what other forms of persuasive writing have to offer. All it's options are good for persuading and not boring the audience. This is why i thought it would be perfect to persuade.

I think that picking this form of persuasive writing would catch the eye of the audience that this poster would be presented to. It shows the main idea of what happened in this novel and it’s a very creative was to show it. Some people do not want to sit and read about a book and what it’s about. Some people just might want to see pictures and get a visual idea of what the book will be about. A poster is a very easy thing to understand and it is mostly found everywhere.

Teenagers do not want to sit down and read a three page essay to persuade them on this topic. They want something eye-catching, easy to follow and simple. Basically a poster is something that will persuade the target audience without them becoming bored.

This type of persuasive writing proves that mankind is a product of our environment because if we only new one type of writing and were not open to other types our world would be creative. For example no persuading people, no posters, or any other type of writing or art. This is why if man is open to these ideas then our ideas can persuade and help make decisions.

It is something simple that is eye catching and interesting,it grabs peoples atention and is simple to read. posters dont have much writing on it but i feel that it works for the audience i am trying to reach out too. Also posters are very common and something that the majority of people like to use which shows that it is an effective persuasive writing example.
