We have come to the end of our semester and the to the end of our classroom blog. I would like you to post your comments, opinions, and suggestions as they relate to the classroom blog. I am interested in the positive and negative experiences with the blog. Please avoid generalizations. Be specific. Some questions to keep in mind when posting your final comments:

9. It was easy and difficult. Sometimes it was difficult because i would have to quickly find time to post the blog especially if i was on the run. Other then that most of the time it was easy because all i had to do was turn on my computer and respond to the blog.
10. Yes it did because i got the confidence by making my writing visible to other readers but also keeping me open minded.

Sometimes I would be a little bit confused on what we read so by reading other people’s thoughts on the book it cleared up my mind and made it easier for me to understand the novel. Non narrative writing was something I found easy to understand so I though it was interesting to read other peoples thoughts on the writing.
3. Yes I believe that by reading others thoughts it was easy to understand what we were working on and sometimes gave me an idea on what to write about.
4. Yes the feedback from peers was also helpful because it was able to be used as some constructive criticism for us to improve on.

6. Yes I would definitely participate in another blog for any class. I think it is a different way to communicate with peers and a new way of learning.

9. I think this blog was an easy task as it was not hard, the questions were very opinionative and open. Also the questions were very short and easy to respond to.

1. In all honestly,I did not rally enjoy the blogging experience throughout the semester.I did like that i could use my computer to post my writing, but i didnt like it because i would always find myself forgetting to go on the blog.
ReplyDelete2. Yes, blogging did help me understand the novel. It is hard for my to absorb what i read after one time. I find myself having to read a paragraph a few times before i remember and understand what happened in the novel. So i think that blog was helpful with that. Non narrative writing was something I found easy to understand and i enjoyed reading other peoples thoughts on the writing.
3. Yes in my opinion, by reading others thoughts it made me look at certain topics a different way, from a different persective.
4. Yes i think the feedback from my friends was helpful because it showed me what my friends think of my writing not what my teacher thinks and what they think i can improve.

6. I would participate in another classroom blog but i would change a few things on it.
And i wouldnt want to participate in a classroom blog for certain subjects.
7. In the blog I find that more people participate then in a classroom discussion because you are bascially hiding behind a computer and if you make a mistake you wont be peanalizes unlike a classroom where you might feel embaressed.
8. I was extremely comfortable with this type of writing. It was fast, alot easier and more convienent.
9. I think this blog was an easy task.Mr. Racco you put very open questions that were very easy to respond too. Which i enjoyed alot.
10. Yes I would think that this blog helped give me some confidence in my writing because we talked about many types of writing we can use in our everyday lives and it made me realize how much we come across different tyopes of writing everyday.

9. I thought that this was mostly an easy task to participate in, because the questions were very easy to answer and understand.
10. Yes I think that this blog helped give me some confidence in my writing because we have learned many new forms of writing and using the blog made it easy to express what I wanted to say.
I enjoyed working with the classroom blog this semester because I found it kept me on my toes when regarding assignments. It allowed me to understand the non-narrative forms of writing much better. Being able to view everyone’s comments at the click of a button was very convenient and resourceful. Providing the whole class with an opportunity to express their opinions is impossible, until you take into consideration our technologic advancements such as the classroom blog. In my opinion, things like this should be used in all classrooms, because it seems logical and overall like the right thing to do. It made me more confident when writing because I knew many people would definitely be reading my work. This fact pushed me to do my best. It also wasn’t a difficult task, but very effective.

7. How was the blog different than oral classroom discussions? Blogging is different from oral classroom discussions because with a blog it is online and as a teenager I spend a lot of time on the computer so using the internet to learn was great!

9. Was this an easy or difficult task? Why? I believe that it was both easy and difficult because some posts were self explanatory whereas others involved more research and knowledge.
10. Did the classroom blog build your confidence in writing? Yes the blog helped build my confidence in writing because I got to submit my writing for other classmates to read and judge.

1) Yes i enjoyed the blogging experience because I never participated in a blog before and i liked it alot. Yes it helped me learn about the novel and about non-narrative writing by how we have to post assignments. It helped me learn more about non-narrative because i will look at other people post and learn more off them.

ReplyDelete2. Yes, blogging helped me learn about the novel and non-narrative forms of writing. I was not aware of the many forms of non-narrative writing that surround our daily lives. Although non-narrative forms of writing are much different from a novel; by completing assignments relating non-narrative forms of writing in Catcher and the Rye and Lord of the Flies helped me to better understand the themes and characters in the novels.
3. Yes, reading peer posts was helpful because I was able to get a different perspective about non narrative forms of writing.

7. During classroom discussions not everyone is able to express their opinion and thoughts or feels comfortable doing so; where as on the blog everyone can.
8. Yes I was comfortable with this way of learning it was a quick way of learning from others.
9. I found it an easy task, it was not time consuming and was a quick way to learn from your peers.
10. Yes the classroom blog did help build my confidence; posting each time helped me practice writing and helped me develop as a writer.
1. At first i did not enjoy the blog at all because it was hard to log on to the sign but after a few times i got the hang of it and started to enjoy the blog a lot.

7. The blog was different from oral classroom discussions for many reasons. The major difference is that if you are a shy person, you feel comfortable sharing your answers through the blog. Also, you have more time to think of your answer, you don’t have to come up with it on the spot in class.
8. Yes, I was very comfortable with this form of learning.
9. This was an easy task to do because all we would have to do is write one paragraph every time there was a new posting. It wasn’t that much work.
10. Yes, the classroom blog helped build my confidence in writing because we could get opinions from our classmates, who would help us improve our writing and become more confidence in it.

7. It is not only different, but in my opinion a better way of learning. I am a shy person and find it hard to share my thoughts and opinions in front of the class and teacher. The blog made this much more enjoyable and comfortable for me. It also gives me more time to think to myself about my responses.
8. I was comfortable with this form of learning. I found it easier to share my opinions on a blog rather than the classroom.
9. It was a fairly easy task. The only problem I had with this blog is that sometimes I would forget to log on due to other homework or because I am out and do not have time to log on when I get home and post.
10. I don't believe that the blog helped me too much with my writing or my confidence in my own writing. It did however give me more knowledge regarding certain topics from reading my peers posts.
1) Yes I did enjoy the blogging because I got to express my thoughts and show the rest of my classmates all the work I've done.

7) It was different because we actually had to sign into our accounts and post a comment saying our thoughts instead of us verbally saying it in class.

9) SOmetimes it was easy and sometimes it wasn't. There would be times when the blogs would be simple and I knew what I was going to post but other times took some thought and took me longer to post.
10) Yes it did because it made me feel comfortable posting my thoughts infront of my peers to see. I didn't feel like I had to hold back on my thoughts on certain topics.
1. I did enjoy the blog because it was an interesting and different way to express myself, but at some points it was frustrating. I would sometimes forget to post on the blog or i would not have access to a computer and that caused me to lose marks.

3)Reading peer posts was probably the most helpful thing about the blog. It gave me so many more thoughts and ideas about the forms of writing/novel.
4)Feedback from peers was helpful also because there is always room for improvement. It helped me improve what i wrote by combining my ideas and thers together. Also it was nice to see people who thought same/agreed with you.
5) The blog had its moments where we had to post interesting thoughts and impinions. But some didnt apeal to me.
6)Depening on what we will be blogging about yes. Some of the Non narative forms of writing were boring but some fun. If the next blog is about something interesting then yes i would deffinently do another blog
7)The blog was differnt from a classroom oral discussion because every one participated. This made it all more interesting. It was nice hearing from a peer who you dont get much feedback from and reading there opinions.
8)Yes I am comforatable with blogging. I like getting feedback and reading other peoples opinions.
9) This was an easy task because we are saying how we feel about forms of writing.

9)This was easy to do because instead of having to write a paper in class you write one paragraph for the blog and you’re done. It was easy.
10)Yes the classroom blog gave me more confidence in my writing because other people were able to give their opinion on my writing which helped me improve it.
